Government Achievements
What the Khan premiership delivered, separated from the political narrative
What His Government Actually Did
The three most significant achievements are the Sehat Sahulat health insurance program, the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami reforestation project, and the Ehsaas social welfare system. Each of these went further than anything previous governments had attempted.
Sehat Sahulat Program
Every family received a health insurance card covering up to one million rupees per year for medical treatment, usable at both public and private hospitals. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa became the first province to achieve universal health coverage, with all 30.5 million residents covered for inpatient care.
Since its inception, the Sehat Card has facilitated over 4.5 million hospital admissions. Treatments worth more than Rs 100 billion have been provided completely free. These include cardiac surgeries, dialysis, cancer therapies, neurosurgeries, C-sections, and more. The program created a bridge between patients and over 1,000 empaneled hospitals across both public and private institutions.
Under the upgraded Sehat Card Plus, coverage expanded to include liver transplants, kidney transplants, bone marrow surgeries, and cochlear implants. If a card holder passes away during treatment, their family receives compensation: Rs 10 lakh if under 60, Rs 5 lakh if above.

10 Billion Tree Tsunami
The most ambitious reforestation program in Pakistan's history, scaled up from the earlier Billion Tree Tsunami in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The budget was 125 billion rupees (roughly $800 million USD). It employed 84,609 workers during the COVID-19 pandemic alone.
The Guardian described it as "a rare example of a developing country taking climate action seriously." The program was praised at the UN Biodiversity Summit and the Austrian World Summit.
Ehsaas Program
The largest social safety net in Pakistan's history, consolidating and expanding existing welfare programs into a single system covering cash transfers, food assistance, health insurance, education stipends, and emergency relief.
During COVID-19, Ehsaas Emergency Cash distributed 150 billion rupees to families who had lost their income. The program used 17,000 bank branches and mobile phone-based registration to reach recipients quickly.
Kartarpur Corridor
A rare diplomatic achievement in a tense region. The corridor provides visa-free access for Indian Sikh pilgrims to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, the site where Guru Nanak spent his final years. Khan inaugurated it in November 2019.
